Yermak: Ukraine will not hold a referendum on territorial concessions to Russia
Ukraine does not plan to hold a referendum on territorial concessions to Russia, Yermak stated.
The Head of the Presidential Office responded negatively to a question from a Corriere della Sera journalist about the possibility of holding a referendum on constitutional amendments that would recognize Russian occupation.
According to him, Ukraine is not going to concede its territories, but Zelenskyy is ready to discuss territorial issues with Putin.
«Zelenskyy has clearly stated: all territorial issues will be discussed during his bilateral meeting with Putin; moreover, negotiations must start from the current frontline, and under no circumstances will we give up our national territories. We acknowledge the situation that has arisen due to the war and want to discuss it. At the moment, we have no intention of conceding any part of our land. However, today we are realistic and understand that the aggressor has occupied some regions, and for now, we are unable to liberate them by military means», - said the Head of the Presidential Office.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy has repeatedly referred to the Constitution, stating that it does not allow him to recognize Russian occupation de jure.
