Rubio and Yermak discussed security guarantees: the project will be ready next week

US Secretary of State Rubio and Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yermak discussed security issues for Ukraine during a meeting of advisors, as reported to Suspilne by Yermak’s advisor Oleksandr Bevz.

As Bevz noted, the parties plan to finalize the development of a model of guarantees by the end of next week. At this time, two subgroups are working on the details of security guarantees: one focuses on the political and legal aspects, while the other deals with military matters. Military guarantees include, in particular, the supply of weapons, financial support for defense forces, intelligence sharing, and the organization of exercises and training missions.

Yermak’s advisor also reported that negotiators working on the political aspects of guarantees for Ukraine are developing an adapted version of Article 5 of the NATO Treaty on collective defence. Special attention is being paid to the mechanism of action in case of a new Russian invasion.
