The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed two decrees imposing sanctions against foreign sponsors of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

This became known from a post by the head of state on Telegram.

He reported that with the first decree, Ukraine synchronized Canadian sanctions against individuals and legal entities supporting the Russian war.

"Together with our partners, we are preparing decisions to synchronize Ukrainian sanctions in partner jurisdictions. Everyone who helps Russia continue the killings and build a military machine for further aggression must feel real world pressure," the president stated.

According to the decree, the sanctions affect citizens of Russia, Croatia, Austria, the USA, Ukraine, Belarus, and Iran.

Regarding legal entities, these are companies from Russia, Switzerland, the UAE, Singapore, Mali, Sudan, Latvia, Germany, China, Belarus, Cyprus, and the Central African Republic.

With the second decree, Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against 28 citizens of different countries who help the Russians maintain the occupation regime and effectively sponsor Russia.

"For each of these individuals, we are also working with law enforcement agencies of partner countries. All accomplices of the Russian occupiers will be held accountable for their actions against Ukraine and Ukrainians," the head of state emphasized.

According to the decree, the list includes four Iranian citizens, and the rest are from Russia and Ukraine. Notably, among those with Ukrainian passports:

Meanwhile, the War Sanctions portal noted that Oleksiy Harmash is a direct participant in the Russian informational war against Ukraine. In June 2024, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine in absentia notified him of suspicion in collaboration activities.

After the full-scale invasion by Russia, Harmash began active cooperation with the propaganda resource News Front. In his reports and posts, he systematically discredits the Ukrainian Defence Forces and spreads misinformation about the conduct of hostilities, while supporting Kremlin narratives.

"In addition to this, Havrysh’s activities include logistical support for the occupational troops. His authored Telegram channel is a platform for organizing fundraising for the needs of the Russian army. Specifically, he documented the collection of funds for the purchase of vehicles for Russian Armed Forces units operating in the Pokrovsk direction," notes the portal.
