US President Donald Trump congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day, emphasizing that the United States believes in Ukraine’s future as an independent state.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on the social network X.

"Dear President Trump, thank you for your heartfelt congratulations on Ukraine’s Independence Day. We appreciate your warm words to the Ukrainian people and thank the United States of America for standing shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine, defending the most precious values – independence, freedom, and guaranteed peace. I am convinced that through joint efforts, we can end this war and achieve true peace for Ukraine," Zelenskyy stated, publishing Trump’s congratulations.

"On behalf of the American people, I extend my congratulations and warmest wishes to you and the courageous people of Ukraine on the celebration of 34 years of independence. The Ukrainian people have an unbreakable spirit, and the bravery of your country inspires many. As you mark this important day, know that the United States respects your struggle, honors your sacrifices, and believes in your future as an independent state.

Now is the time to end the senseless killings. The United States supports a negotiated settlement that will lead to lasting peace, end the bloodshed, and protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and dignity.
