The head of the Polish president’s office denied rumors about the disconnection of Starlink for Ukraine
Starlink for Ukraine is not planned to be disconnected.
This was reported by the office of Polish President Nawrocki.
The head of the office, Zbigniew Bogucki, refuted the statement by the Minister of Digitization, Gawkowski, about stopping payment for the service.
"The president’s veto does not lead to the disconnection of Starlink internet for Ukraine, as the costs of this connection are covered according to the existing legislation, and the project submitted to the Sejm by the president preserves this order. It’s enough to swiftly pass the president’s initiative through the Polish parliament in September.
The same situation applies to the support for storing data of the Ukrainian administration in a secure location," Bogucki noted.
The issue concerns a government bill vetoed by the president. Nawrocki insists on excluding payments for non-working Ukrainians from the document. At the same time, the bill also reflects the financing of other needs for Ukraine (which are blocked due to the veto).
Thus, the Polish Sejm will have to adopt a revised law, excluding part of the payments to Ukrainian refugees, in order to avoid a repeat veto by the president.
