In the Ternopil region, during a procession to the Pochaiv Lavra, representatives of the TRC mobilized a clergyman of the UOC, as reported by local media.

According to journalist Kostyantyn Andryuk, he is already at the Rivne training ground.

According to media reports, this concerns Archpriest Bohdan Matvyeyev, a cleric of the Kremenchuk Diocese. He is the father of five children, the eldest of whom is participating in combat operations and holds the status of a combat veteran.

The Ternopil Regional TRC confirmed the mobilization of Bohdan Matvyeyev.

«Legislation does not provide for absolute exemptions for categories of persons who cannot be mobilized during martial law. What matters is the presence of legal grounds for deferment, reservation, or exemption. According to Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine «On Military Duty and Military Service», citizen Bohdan Matvyeyev did not exercise his right to deferment, was not reserved in accordance with the established procedure, and, therefore, is subject to mobilization on general grounds», — emphasized the TRC.

As previously reported, the authorities granted reservations to all churches, even small sects, but excluded the UOC from this list.
