NABU and SAPO suspect SSU General Vityuk of illegal enrichment

NABU and SAPO have announced suspicion against the former director of the SSU cybersecurity department Illya Vityuk for illegal enrichment and false declaration.

According to the investigation data, in December 2023, the suspect purchased an apartment for 21.6 million UAH and registered it under his wife’s name. At the same time, the contract stated its cost as 12.8 million UAH.

To justify the origin of the funds, the wife stated that she earned them as a sole proprietor by providing legal and consulting services since February 2022.

Investigators established that funds were transferred to the sole proprietor’s accounts from an individual suspected of embezzling funds from JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" as part of an organized criminal group, as well as from companies controlled by this individual.

The collected evidence indicates that such services were not provided, and the companies have fictitious traits.

Furthermore, there is no confirmation of the legal origin of the remaining 8.8 million UAH spent on purchasing the apartment.

The process is quite lengthy.
