Currently, the reduction of the mobilization age is not being discussed, the President’s Office reported.
«Despite the seriousness of the situation on the front line, this issue is not on the agenda now - I mean, the reduction of the mobilization age,» said Deputy Head of the President’s Office Pavlo Palisa to Ukrainian media.
He expressed the opinion that the government’s decision to allow men aged 18 to 22 to travel abroad will help keep the youth in Ukraine and alleviate parents’ concerns regarding the possible reduction of the mobilization age.
Palisa also emphasized the importance of freedom of choice in the new program of voluntary participation for men aged 18-24, adding that the state has conditions «that will ensure the competitiveness and advantages of this approach over other options».
