In Cherkasy, a woman was fined for "selling" positions in the SSU

The Prydniprovskyi District Court of Cherkasy found a citizen guilty of abuse of influence.

This was reported by «Court Reporter» with reference to the verdict dated August 28.

Between September and November 2024, the accused told an acquaintance that she worked in the bodies of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) in Kyiv and Cherkasy. She offered the man employment in the SSU in Ivano-Frankivsk region for 1,500-2,000 US dollars or in the SSU in Kyiv for 5,000 US dollars.

The interlocutor was supposed to prepare copies of his passport, identification code, and educational diploma with an appendix, as well as a handwritten autobiography—documents in triplicate in three files, into which money had to be inserted.

During one of the meetings, the woman offered her acquaintance a position responsible for fire safety oversight in the SSU bodies and told him about the benefits of such a job.

The man handed over a folder of documents and 8,500 hryvnias to the accused, and later his autobiography and an additional 600 US dollars. After the second transfer of money, the woman was detained. It is believed that she took money for influencing unidentified officials of the SSU in Kyiv at the time.

During the court hearing, the citizen did not deny her guilt, sincerely repented, asked not to be severely punished, and requested a chance for rehabilitation. In light of this, the court decided not to examine evidence regarding circumstances that were not disputed by anyone.

The accused was fined 68,000 hryvnias.

According to the case materials, the woman is officially unemployed. She has a secondary specialized education, and it is unknown whether she ever worked at the SBU. At the time of her detention, the suspect was 53 years old and had a Group III disability due to a heart valve replacement surgery.

During the investigation stage, it was noted that her acquaintance was interested in employment at the SSU to obtain a reservation from mobilization. The accused sent him messages stating that his candidacy had been approved for employment at the SSU, after which she demanded that he bring his autobiography and 600 US dollars.
