In Ukraine, criminal liability for unauthorized departure from a military unit is being reinstated

The Council adopted in the first reading bill 13260, which reinstates criminal liability for unauthorized absence.

The bill provides for the exclusion of the possibility of mitigating punishment for military personnel who have arbitrarily left their unit.

Previously, it was possible to avoid punishment by voluntarily returning to service. This provision was extended several times, but its validity expired on August 30.
