Ukraine proposes to the USA to use industrial waste as a source of strategic metals

Ukraine intends to offer the United States industrial waste as part of a subsoil usage agreement.

This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy and member of the governing board of the American-Ukrainian Investment Fund, Yehor Perelyhin.

In his opinion, alternative sources of raw materials could include waste from the mining and metallurgical sector.

"What has been considered a burden for decades is now truly a new raw material base: without opening new quarries, we can extract strategic metals for batteries, electronics, aviation, and the defence industry – and simultaneously eliminate negative historical environmental consequences," Perelyhin noted.
