The General Staff suggests the possibility of turning off the mobile network or significantly slowing down mobile internet during alerts.

This was reported by a source in the General Staff.

Despite there being enough measures currently in place to counter the use of Ukraine’s mobile network by Russia for drone navigation, this situation might change in the future.

"There is sense in such measures (turning off the mobile network - ed.). How necessary it is depends on the specific situation and conditions. Therefore, it might be appropriate in some cases to apply a reduction in mobile internet speed to specifically limit the operation of UAVs in FPV mode," a source in the General Staff stated.

However, this depends on the type of drone used by the Russian army, the source noted.

For example, UAVs without cameras do not require high internet speeds to transmit data, but drones with cameras need high-speed data transmission. Therefore, "there is a sense in applying mobile communication restrictions" specifically for them.
