Commander Syrskyi dismissed the heads of two corps from their positions – the chief of the 17th Corps, Volodymyr Sylenko, and the chief of the 20th Corps, Maksym Kytyuhin.
This was reported by the media citing their sources.
According to their information, the commander made this decision due to the loss of positions by these corps.
The 17th Corps is involved in combat in the Zaporizhzhya region, while the 20th Corps operates on the border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. It is in these areas that Russian forces have recently been conducting active offensive operations.
These are the first instances of dismissal of corps commanders since the Defence Forces switched to a corps management system.
