In Poltava, a Mi-2 helicopter was removed from its pedestal, which was previously installed in place of the monument to Peter I. It was taken down in the evening of September 18, as reported by the press service of the 18th Army Aviation Brigade.

The helicopter was installed as a temporary installation in honor of the brigade’s 10th anniversary, but it stood for only one day.

The city’s residents had mixed reactions to this idea: for some, it was an interesting photo opportunity and a way to show respect to the military, while others expressed concerns that the mock-up might be mistaken by Russians for military equipment during air attacks, as reported by "Suspilne".
