The economy of Ukraine does not rely on 18-22-year-old young men, so the departure of this age group of the population has almost no impact on the financial situation in the country.

This positive opinion was expressed by Ivan Tymochko, the head of the Reservists Council of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Tymochko emphasized that allowing 18-22-year-old young men to travel abroad is not a right to emigrate. Young men have been given the opportunity to cross the border and can return just as easily.

He believes that the 18–22 age group primarily consists of students who are still pursuing their education and are not a key economic pillar of the country.

«Perhaps they work part-time in their free time from studies. No one prohibits that. But the economy of Ukraine is certainly not built on them. This is also important to understand. Yes, of course, the work of any citizen and the taxes paid from their work affect the economy, but it is definitely not tied to specific age groups. This also needs to be realized,» Tymochko said.
