"Words are stronger than actions": Trump accused the UN of being powerless to stop wars

Trump criticized the UN from the General Assembly podium.

«What is the purpose of the UN? It has enormous potential, but it doesn’t even come close to realizing it. Right now, words are stronger than actions; they do not stop wars,» the U.S. President stated.

He noted that in his efforts to stop wars around the world, he has not received support from the UN.

«A broken escalator and a non-working teleprompter — that’s what I got from the UN,» Trump added.

At the beginning of his speech, he emphasized that the teleprompter was not functioning, and someone would have «serious problems» because of it. Upon entering the UN building, the escalator also failed to work for him.
