In the north of Donetsk region, the AFU repel assaults by small infantry groups under the cover of drones

The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the situation in the northern part of the Donetsk region: they are attacking with small infantry groups under the cover of a large number of drones.

This was reported by acting deputy commander of the 3rd mechanized battalion "Fireflies" of the 66th Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstislav the Brave, Roman "Hoverla" Kopanytsia.

According to him, in the north of the Donetsk region (Lyman direction), where his unit is responsible, the intensity of enemy assault actions has not decreased - it has remained the same as it was a week or a month ago.

"One of the main directions of the Russian attacks is to enter Slovyansk, Kramatorsk from the north, and from the south - through Pokrovsk they want to encircle the Donetsk region," noted Kopanytsia.

According to his information, the Russians are already facing a shortage of manpower in this section of the front, but they do not abandon attempts to infiltrate the Defence Forces’ defensive positions. The manpower shortage is evidenced by the fact that infantry groups include people over 60 years old, those who are limping, and even the wounded.

The Russians are covering these assault groups with drones.

"Now their drones have started actively cutting off our logistical routes from Slovyansk to Izium. This route is already being intercepted by their drones, so we have started using it less for logistics. However, we are constructing a series of engineering shelters, structures there to improve our logistical positions," said Kopanytsia.
