The DIU conducted a large-scale cyber attack on the Russian payment system "SPB" and "TransTeleCom"
From September 24 to 25, cyber specialists from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine carried out a large-scale attack on the digital infrastructure of the Russian national payment system "SPB" and the provider "TransTeleCom".
This was reported by sources at RBC-Ukraine.
As a result of the attack, the operation of these resources was partially paralyzed. Russian citizens were unable to make transfers between banks and pay for goods and services, including online payments at gas stations and paying for public transport fares via QR code.
Additionally, there were several other inconveniences in using online services for Russian citizens (for example, lack of internet connection and interactive television).
The estimated economic losses as a result of the attack amount to up to 30 million dollars.
