Geography is expanding: African countries show interest in Ukrainian weapons, — Zelenskyy

This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on September 27.

The head of state explained that Ukraine will only allow the sale of those types of weapons that are not scarce for the army.

"Regarding the issue of controlled export of various weapons, I say that it is controlled, of which there is no shortage in the Ukrainian army. This is exactly how we approach this issue, because the priority is the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Priorities of Distribution

According to him, first and foremost, Ukrainian weapons should strengthen the front, and only then go for export.

"The first priority is the front, the second is our arsenals, and only the third priority is controlled export," the president clarified.

Where the Proceeds from Sales Will Go

The income from the export of surplus samples will be directed to the purchase and production of what is needed most - primarily drones and modern interception systems.

"To receive money from this export and spend it on scarce drones and interceptors, as well as long-range means that require funding," he said.

Geography of Demand

Ukraine already has representations in Europe, the USA, and the Middle East. In addition, new proposals have emerged from several African countries.

"On the UN General Assembly platform, an agreement was reached with the African continent, I already have proposals from several African countries. We have already chosen a country and are still considering - there is great interest," Zelenskyy reported.

According to the president, the government will soon announce details regarding the countries and conditions with which Ukraine will cooperate in the field of defence exports.
