The Ministry of Energy officially commented on the dismissal of Zaychenko from "Ukrenergo"
The Ministry of Energy has officially responded to the personnel scandal at "Ukrenergo" for the first time in three days. They state that they have not yet received any documents regarding the dismissal of the company’s head, Vitaliy Zaychenko.
This was reported by the Ministry on Telegram.
In the official statement, it is noted that the Ministry has not yet received any documents from the supervisory board of "Ukrenergo" "regarding the issues mentioned in the media" concerning the dismissal of Vitaliy Zaychenko.
It is also emphasized that the Ministry of Energy respects the status of the supervisory board as an independent body that must act within the framework of Ukrainian legislation.
"As a shareholder of the company, the Ministry of Energy operates exclusively within the law and in the interests of ensuring stability and energy security of the country, which is the highest priority under current conditions," the statement reads.
On Friday, September 26, journalists learned from their own sources that the supervisory board decided to dismiss Zaychenko and the entire board of "Ukrenergo," except for Oleksiy Brekht, who will become the acting head of the company.
Zaychenko was dismissed just three months after his appointment. The decision itself was made during an online meeting of the supervisory board.
According to media reports, the decision to dismiss the head of "Ukrenergo" was made in response to the results of an inspection by the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC).
The inspection revealed that two board members, Ivan Yuryk and Oleh Pavlenko, were appointed in the summer with violations. These violations were not rectified in time, so the supervisory board decided to dismiss not only the board members but also Zaichenko, to whom they "lost trust."
Notably, according to the YouControl system, Zaychenko still remains the head of the board.
