"Letter of Happiness": Ukrainian men in Canada are forced to provide certificates of military service
Ukrainian men in Canada have started complaining again that immigration services are requesting a certificate of military service in Ukraine.

"Today, I received that ’letter of happiness’ about military service. A few months ago, after AOR (AOR — a key stage in any immigration or citizenship process in Canada. This is an official confirmation from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that they have received your application and started initial processing. — Ed.), I submitted military forms, the original temporary certificate, and a translation, as well as wrote a long explanatory letter stating that I have never served," the message reads.
In the so-called "letter of honesty," Canadian authorities are asking the man to provide an explanation of how he left Ukraine in 2023 and to submit a new certificate.
"I left Ukraine as a volunteer but did not return because there is a war there. In ’Reserve+’, I am listed as wanted, so I cannot provide an extract. The lawyer handling my case says I should somehow obtain a certificate from Ukraine, otherwise she refuses to continue working on my case. I am in Toronto," the draft evader complains.
