The Kyiv CHPs have all the necessary protection as required by the General Staff’s requirements. The information about the alleged lack of protection does not correspond to reality and is a political manipulation.
This was stated by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), which urged not to spread false data.
"Currently, a statement by one of the ’experts’ about the alleged lack of any protection at Kyiv CHPs is being circulated in the media space. Such information is political manipulation and does not correspond to reality. The capital’s CHPs have the necessary first-stage protection in accordance with the requirements of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More detailed information about this protection is not allowed to be disseminated in the public domain due to security requirements. Those who consider themselves experts on the topic and take the responsibility to comment on it cannot be unaware of these requirements," the KCSA statement read.
Deputy Head of the KCSA Petro Panteleev emphasized that key energy facilities, where required by the regulations, have protection. He called on media representatives and officials not to spread false data, especially those concerning the operation of energy facilities.
"I remind you that the dissemination of data on the locations of destruction and the state of protection of critical infrastructure objects is classified as information with restricted access by the order of the Ministry of Energy dated 15.03.2023 No. 92. Therefore, such ’comments’ create a number of additional risks for energy workers and aid enemy actions," Panteleev noted.
He also spoke about the elimination of the consequences of an enemy attack.
"Energy workers have already restored power to 270,000 consumers. The restoration of electricity supply continues, and it must be returned to other consumers as quickly as possible. In the meantime, water supply is limited in four districts—Holosiivskyi, Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi. To provide citizens with water until the water supply situation is stabilized, 84 wells are connected to generators. In total, there are 170 well complexes operating in the capital, located in all neighborhoods," the deputy head of the KCSA reported.
