Soldiers of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated the advantages of the "Kozak-5" armored personnel carrier. The defenders noted that the vehicle has an enormous power reserve, which allows for more effective execution of combat missions.
The "Kozak-5" is especially popular among the brigade’s medics, who say that working with such a vehicle is much safer, more efficient, and more comfortable.
This was reported by the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, the armored vehicle "Kozak-5" is built on the basis of the legendary Ford F-550. Under the hood, the vehicle is equipped with a 6.7-liter engine producing 440 horsepower.
A soldier with the call sign "Mozart" said that this vehicle meets all the requirements necessary for the safe evacuation of the wounded. The defenders note that the vehicle is equipped with an automatic fire suppression system, which further adds confidence during mission execution.
The armored personnel carrier was initially developed for the needs of the police and special operations units (such as KORD). It is used for transporting personnel and assaulting buildings. It is actively employed by the Defence Forces of Ukraine in the war against Russia.
The ballistic protection of the "Kozak-5" corresponds to the PZSA-5 level according to DSTU 3975 or STANAG 4569 Level 2. This provides protection against armor-piercing bullets of 7.62 mm caliber. The vehicle also has anti-mine protection, although it is not a specialized MRAP in the full sense, like the "Kozak-2M1".
