The Director of the Municipal Security Department of Kyiv City State Administration, Tkachenko, has been suspended due to overpayment for special vehicles

In the Kyiv City State Administration, another "bayonet" has been lost: Roman Tkachuk, the director of the Municipal Security Department, has been suspended from his position. He holds the record for the number of suspicions related to "corruption" and financial issues within Kyiv’s authorities, with a total of six. However, the wording of the latest suspicion is different: improper performance of official duties.

The suspension of Roman Tkachuk, director of the Municipal Security Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, October 14. The date until which the official will be on forced leave is December 8, meaning almost 2 months. The decision was made by the Holosiivskyi District Court of the capital, and the basis for it was the purchase of special vehicles for one of the units of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv at a significantly inflated cost.

"According to official duties, the director of the Department was supposed to properly organize the process of determining the expected cost of the special vehicles before the procurement, but he failed to do so. As a result, nearly 11 million hryvnias were overpaid for the vehicles," the capital’s prosecutor’s office explained.

Tkachuk’s actions were classified under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - "improper performance by an official of their duties due to a negligent attitude towards them." Law enforcement believes this caused serious consequences to state interests. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is underway regarding this matter. In total, Tkachuk has the status of a suspect in two proceedings, while four others are already under court consideration.
