Power supply issues in Kyiv are likely related to a massive strike by Russian forces that occurred on Friday, October 10, 2025.
People’s Deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko reported that as a result of this attack, two Kyiv thermal power plants were completely shut down. His statement caused a wide resonance, as he also criticized the local authorities, claiming that:
At one of the Kyiv thermal power plants, block transformers were damaged.
He stated that these transformers were unprotected and were hit by ordinary drones, not ballistic missiles, placing the responsibility for this on the Kyiv City State Administration and the Kyiv City Council.
