"Russia has lost the "Veshkayma" substation in the Ulyanovsk region, which is one of the key elements of the Russian energy system.
This was reported on Telegram by Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
According to him, "Russia has lost the "Veshkayma" substation (500 kV) in the Ulyanovsk region - one of the key elements of its energy system".
This facility provided the connection between the Ulyanovsk, Mordovia, Chuvash, and Samara regions and acted as a transit hub for supplying electricity from the Syzran and Zhiguli hydroelectric power stations to the central regions of Russia.
As the head of the CCD emphasized, "this happens when you strike at Ukraine’s energy system".
