Ukrainian intelligence officers destroyed the latest "Valday" radar station in Crimea
Ukrainian intelligence officers from the unmanned systems unit have destroyed the enemy’s latest radar system in occupied Crimea. The system in question is the "Valday" radar station.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
Initially, the intelligence officers spotted the expensive radar station camouflaged by the Russians at the "Dzhankoy" airfield, and then launched an attack.
"The demilitarization of Crimea continues!" reported the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate and added a video of the destruction of the enemy’s radar system.
The "Valday" radar system is considered a modern Russian complex that includes a jamming module capable of suppressing (jamming) control, navigation, or communication signals of drones.
Thus, Russia uses the "Valday" radar to detect and combat unmanned aerial vehicles, particularly smaller drones.
The detection range of small drones by this radar station is between 5 to 6 km. For larger drones, it is over 15 km.
The "Valday" radar is not yet widely deployed - it is still undergoing testing and is mentioned as "one of the first models in its class."
It should be noted that earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported the destruction of two "Valday" radar systems in the Moscow region.
On the night of February 6th to 7th this year, there was a powerful explosion in the city of Dolgoprudny near Moscow - our defenders struck the enemy’s radar station responsible for the security of the airspace of the Russian capital.
