Two Ukrainian teenagers were rescued from temporarily occupied territories as part of the President of Ukraine’s initiative Bring Kids Back UA.

This was reported by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.

An 18-year-old boy lived in a city where the occupiers replaced the Ukrainian school curriculum with constant Russian propaganda, and speaking Ukrainian became dangerous. He witnessed his teachers being forced to switch to Russian educational standards, and military personnel coming to schools with lectures about "serving the Motherland." The boy understood that the only future option there was forced conscription into the occupier’s army.

The 20-year-old boy spent almost three years under occupation. He endured isolation, humiliation, constant checks, and searches by the occupation authorities. His sister was able to leave for Ukraine-controlled territory earlier, and she was the one who convinced her brother to take this step. Today, both boys are already with their families, safe, and beginning a new life in free Ukraine.

"I thank the Ukrainian Network for Children’s Rights and the Humanity initiative, who helped save these boys. We are fulfilling the President’s task — to bring back all Ukrainian children," — emphasizes Yermak.
