The AFU refute Russia’s claims about control over the Quarantine Island in Kherson

Russian media, citing the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, report the takeover of Quarantine Island, located south of Kherson, following a crossing of the Dnipro.

It is claimed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine unsuccessfully tried to retake the island. Footage is also shown, which is said to confirm control over this territory.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces refute this information, but their refutation concerns the capture of the entire Kherson and the presence of Russian troops on the right bank of the Dnipro. Meanwhile, Quarantine Island is located between the banks.

"In the occupiers’ propaganda telegram channels, Kherson is already ’captured,’ and the ’Russian infantry’ allegedly moves along the right bank. However, in real videos from the Ostriv neighborhood and the village of Sadove, there is silence, tranquility, and no enemy is observed," reports the 34th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation refutes the loss of the Ostriv neighborhood, located further north, within Kherson itself, as well as Quarantine Island. At the same time, it refers to the statement of the 34th brigade, which, as already mentioned, only refuted the presence of Russians on the right bank.

It’s worth noting that Quarantine Island is connected by a bridge to Kherson and is part of the hydro park.

On the Deep State map, the island is marked as being under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Russians publish videos of new strikes on the bridge that connects the Ostriv neighborhood with the rest of Kherson.
