The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has denied the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk

After the Russian command reported the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the situation in this sector of the front.

They do not confirm the encirclement but note the difficult situation in this direction, and also report that Russian troops have already entered the city, where street fighting is ongoing.

"The enemy, using the space between positions and infiltrating small infantry groups, has concentrated about 200 soldiers in the city. Skirmishes are taking place in the settlement, with active involvement of UAV units. Enemy attempts to advance further and establish a foothold in urban areas are being thwarted through counter-sabotage measures," the statement reads.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that over the past ten days, the villages of Kucheriv Yar and Sukhetske were liberated in the area of the Dobrovolsky salient. In total, since August 21, according to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces have regained control over nine settlements in this direction.
