Zelenskyy: "Shaheds" have become more dangerous than ballistic missiles

Strike drones of the "Shahed" type have become more dangerous than ballistic missiles. However, Ukraine is increasing the production of more advanced interceptor drones.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about this during a meeting with journalists on October 27.

"Shaheds are now sometimes more dangerous than ballistic missiles. We shoot down a ballistic missile at least in areas where we have Patriot systems. But to shoot down such a large number of Shaheds at such altitudes, we need to use everything," Zelenskyy stated.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine use interceptors, F-16s, and helicopters. At the same time, much depends on the weather.

"In freezing temperatures, we will see how we can use helicopters. Interceptors are also different. Some are already at a high level, with self-guidance and so on. We are moving toward this. Anyway, in November, we will reach 500-800 interceptors per day," the head of state added.

He emphasized that Ukraine needs to train operators. Many mobile fire groups are stationed at various facilities, and now a large number of operators are needed to work with interceptors, while simultaneously responding to Russian attacks with long-range weapons.
