Drunken conflict with shooting: In Kyiv, a man injured two passersby near a building
In the Podilskyi district of Kyiv, a man was detained who, according to the investigation, opened fire near the entrance of a residential building. As a result, two passersby were injured.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police.
The suspect faces up to seven years in prison.
According to law enforcement, the incident occurred late in the evening a few days ago near one of the residential buildings in the Podilskyi district on European Union Avenue. It was preliminarily established that the man was drinking alcohol with acquaintances and provoked a conflict with local residents who were passing by.
"During the argument, he pulled a pistol from his bag, started waving it around, and fired shots at two passersby – men aged 39 and 37. As a result of the shooting, one of them sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, and the other to the abdomen," the press service clarified.

The perpetrator fled the scene, but he was quickly located and detained – he turned out to be a 40-year-old Kyiv resident living in the same district. A traumatic pistol was found and seized at his place of residence.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated on the grounds of hooliganism (Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the detainee has been informed of the suspicion.
