At the Hrushiv – Budomierz checkpoint, during the inspection of a RENAULT MASTER heading to Poland, customs officers discovered undeclared 50,000 euros.
This was reported by the Lviv Customs Office.
The driver, a 26-year-old resident of Rivne Oblast, chose the “red corridor” lane for customs clearance and declared the transportation of 20,000 euros, which belonged to him and a passenger.

However, the passenger did not report an additional 50,000 euros, which were found in a woman’s handbag. The declared cash was returned to the driver and his companion. The remaining amount, equivalent to nearly 2.5 million hryvnias according to the NBU exchange rate, was seized pending legal resolution of the case.

In addition, at the Krakivets checkpoint, during the inspection of a MERCEDES-BENZ driven by a 28-year-old resident of Bukovyna, undeclared 5,000 euros and 900 US dollars were discovered. According to the NBU exchange rate, this amount exceeds 280,000 hryvnias.
Protocols on violations of customs rules were drawn up for these incidents in accordance with Part 1 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
