The Verkhovna Rada withdraws the draft law on excluding the Russian language from the protection of the Charter

The Verkhovna Rada, at the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers, is withdrawing from consideration the government bill No. 14120, which proposed to exclude the Russian language from protection under the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.

This was reported by MP Vyatrovych.

He hints that this decision was made under the influence of the EU: "they are withdrawing it allegedly due to pressure from some Russian lobbyists in the Council of Europe."
