IAEA: Substations supplying power to Pivdennoukrainska and Khmelnytskyi NPPs damaged due to shelling
As a result of yesterday’s shelling, substations that supply electricity to Ukrainian nuclear power plants were damaged.
This was reported by the IAEA.
The organization noted that the attacks led to damage to substations that are critical for Ukraine’s nuclear safety.
As a result, the Pivdennoukrainska and Khmelnytskyi NPPs lost access to one of their external power transmission lines.
At the Rivne NPP, at the request of the power system operator, the capacity of two out of four power units was reduced.
The IAEA team, which is stationed at the Khmelnytskyi NPP, reported that in the morning they had to spend several hours in a shelter at a hotel.
