Night shelling of Sumy: the number of injured has sharply increased
Russian troops carried out a series of drone strikes on Sumy since the evening. As a result of the shelling, 15 injured people, including children, sought medical assistance.
This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.
"Starting from 22:30, the Russians attacked Sumy with strike drones, targeting residential areas and city infrastructure. Peaceful residents, who were in their homes, came under fire and were forced to escape from the flames and debris," Hryhorov noted.
According to his information, 11 injured people sought help, including children. A 14-year-old girl was hospitalized.
There is no threat to her life – doctors provided the necessary assistance and are monitoring the child’s condition. Initially, it was reported that 2 people were injured.
In addition, the strikes damaged apartments in multi-story buildings, private houses, and cars. Rescuers evacuated residents from the damaged premises.
Also, due to the enemy strike, a passenger depot was affected – part of the utility premises and train cars were destroyed. The Sumy – Kyiv train departed on schedule with a replacement train set.
The number of injured has increased again
According to the Sumy region police, as of 8:20, the number of injured due to the nighttime shelling of the regional center has risen to 15.
