Zelenskyy: Ukraine has strengthened its air defence with Patriot systems thanks to agreements with Germany

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the strengthening of Ukrainian air defence with Patriot systems. According to him, this step is the result of agreements with Germany, which have already been fulfilled.

He wrote about this on his Telegram.

“We have reinforced the Patriot component in our Ukrainian air defense. I thank Germany and Chancellor Friedrich Merz personally for this joint step to protect lives from Russian terror. For some time, we have been preparing this enhancement of air defence, and now the agreements reached have been implemented,” Zelenskyy stated.

The head of state emphasized that Russian airstrikes are the Kremlin’s main bet in the war, which is why strengthening Ukrainian air defense is critically important for bringing victory closer.

“Russian airstrikes are Putin’s main bet in this war; through terror, he seeks to compensate for his inability to achieve his insane goals on the ground. Therefore, every enhancement of our air defence literally brings us closer to the end of the war that we all await,” the president stressed.

Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine, together with its partners, continues to build a reliable air defense system that will ensure the security not only of our country but also of our allies in the future.

“Our security is indivisible; our air defense must protect all of us,” he underscored.

The President added that negotiations on further strengthening air defense are ongoing both between governments and directly with system manufacturers.

“There will be further results. Glory to Ukraine!” Zelenskyy concluded.
