In Zakarpattia, law enforcement officers dismantled a large-scale scheme of illegal transportation of men of conscription age across the state border via the Tysa River. The organizers of the illegal route were found to be four residents of the Berehove district.

According to law enforcement, the perpetrators organized a full-fledged criminal business, delivering "clients" directly to the bank of the Tysa River, from where they were transported to Hungary by boat.

The cost of such a "service" was $8,000 (eight thousand US dollars) per person.

The joint operation to apprehend the suspects was carried out by officers of the Internal and Own Security Department of the 27th Border Guard Detachment of the Western Regional Directorate in cooperation with the National Police.

During the detention and searches, a whole arsenal of technical equipment used to ensure the safety and coordination of illegal crossings was seized from the offenders:

The four detained residents of the Berehove district now face criminal liability for organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigative actions are ongoing, and all circumstances of the crime are being established.
