Large-scale cleaning of RMA heads: Yermak’s resignation threatens up to two-thirds of regional leaders

The large-scale internal political consequences of Yermak’s departure, as we previously noted, depend on whether the "Servants of the People" will manage to maintain control over the majority in the Verkhovna Rada, or if it will be reformatted (with a possible subsequent resignation of the government), as well as on how intensively NABU will continue its investigation into Zelenskyy’s entourage and the president himself.

All these processes will become evident only over time.

Nevertheless, according to sources in political circles, one of the consequences of the resignation may manifest quite soon — immediately after the appointment of a new head of the President’s Office and his team. This concerns the heads of regional military administrations.

"Up to two-thirds of the RMA leaders are people appointed under Yermak’s patronage. Therefore, they are now in the risk zone. Much, of course, depends on who will take the position of the head of the Office and who will oversee the regions. Yermak is trying to push Palisa for this position. It’s not a fact that this will succeed. But even if it happens, Yermak’s and his team’s influence will objectively decrease significantly. The role of his competitors — Arakhamia and Fedorov — will increase. Therefore, a large-scale replacement of RMA heads is likely to occur. Especially since Zelenskyy has already announced certain measures regarding the regions after a meeting with the SSU," the source reported.
