Release failed, appoint - no: The Rada left Ukraine without ministers of defence and energy

After an unsuccessful vote regarding Shmyhal, the Rada lacked the votes to proceed with appointing Fedorov as the Minister of Defence.

A break was announced during the session. Deputies report that today’s meeting has concluded.

The appointment of the Ministers of Defence and Energy will be attempted tomorrow, according to MP Zhelezniak, who emphasizes that in the midst of war and under the threat of blackouts, the country is left without Ministers of Defence and Energy, as well as without a head of the SSU.

As a reminder, today the Rada voted for the resignation of Shmyhal from the position of Minister of Defence and Mayuk from the position of head of the SSU.

Fedorov was planned to be appointed as the Minister of Economy, while Shmyhal was to be transferred to the position of Minister of Energy.

However, the required number of votes for these decisions was not achieved.

The candidacy for the new head of the SSU was not even proposed by the President.
