The Ukrainian team continued the 2026 Paralympics with the women’s para-biathlon sprint race in the standing class, where four Ukrainian athletes participated — Iryna Bui, Liudmyla Liashenko, Oleksandra Kononova, and Bohdana Konashuk.
Oleksandra Kononova claimed "gold," completing the distance without any misses. The Ukrainian crossed the finish line in 18:41.5 minutes, with a 5.9-second lead over her closest competitor. Kononova became a Paralympic champion in biathlon for the third time in her career — this is her first "gold" in this sport in 12 years.
Liudmyla Liashenko also secured "bronze" with one miss at the second shooting range, finishing the race 32.4 seconds behind the winner. Iryna Bui placed in the top-5, finishing 49.5 seconds behind the winner without any misses, while Bohdana Konashuk came in eighth with two misses.

This is Ukraine’s second and third medal at the 2026 Paralympics. In the first event for the "blue-and-yellow" team at the 2026 Paralympic Games, Taras Rad won "gold" in the para-biathlon sitting sprint, securing his second career victory.
