Zelenskyy: Ukrainian Armed Forces held all key defensive positions during the winter

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ukrainian army achieved significant results during the winter of 2025-2026 and held all key defensive positions.

This was reported by the head of state on Telegram.

Zelenskyy informed that he spoke today with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. The leaders managed to discuss all key issues that are currently "important for the security of our countries and Europe." In particular, the situation in Ukraine and the key defence needs of our state.

"I informed about the consequences of the Russian massive strike last night, as well as the events on the front line. Ukrainian soldiers achieved tangible results this winter and held all key defence directions," the president reported.

The head of state also emphasized the importance of implementing the agreement on 90 billion euros of support for Ukraine over the next two years, as well as a new sanctions package against Russia.

In addition, the leaders discussed the Middle East and the Gulf region - the situation around Iran and its prospects.

"Emmanuel supported our efforts for greater security in the region – Ukrainian defence against ’Shaheds’ is indeed the most experienced, and it is the Ukrainian experience that can become one of the foundations of a renewed and more effective collective security with all partners," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Summarizing, the president added that Ukraine is preparing with France "for our joint formats of diplomatic work" in the coming weeks.
