Russia seeks to establish a foothold in Kostyantynivka at any cost by the end of April, - AFU

The Russian command has set a task for its units to advance to Kostyantynivka at any cost by the end of April 2026.

This was stated by Anatoliy Kulykovskyi, the commander of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.

According to the defenders, the Russians are trying to avoid large-scale assaults and instead are infiltrating the city in small infantry groups to establish a foothold in built-up areas and demonstrate their presence in the city.

Given the difficult situation on the approaches to Kostyantynivka, the military leadership has decided to switch to combined logistics. The new strategy is based on the extensive use of aerial and ground unmanned systems for the safe transportation of cargo, as well as the allocation of additional funding for the purchase of pickup trucks and strike FPV drones.
