"Oschadbank" demands the return of armored cash collection vehicles and valuables detained in Hungary

"Oschadbank" demands the return of armored cash collection vehicles and valuables detained in Hungary
"Oschadbank" has stated that it demands the Hungarian authorities return its illegally seized property and valuables. The vehicles and valuables remain detained.
This was reported in a statement by JSC "Oschadbank", published on March 7.
The defence of rights will focus on two directions
"After the illegal seizure in Hungary on March 5, 2026, of seven Oschadbank employees, two cash-in-transit vehicles, and the valuables they were transporting, the Ukrainian citizens have returned home. However, the vehicles and valuables remain illegally detained," the statement reads.
It is noted that the further defence of the rights of Oschadbank of Ukraine in resolving the incident in Hungary will focus on two directions.
- First: challenging the decision on restrictive measures regarding the ability to stay in the EU, which were groundlessly imposed on the bank’s cash-in-transit team employees by the Hungarian migration service. Additionally, the violation of the rights of Oschadbank employees during their detention for over 24 hours without access to legal assistance and consular support will be thoroughly investigated.
- Second direction: taking legal steps to recover the bank’s property – two cash-in-transit vehicles and valuables worth 40 million USD, 35 million EUR, and 9 kg of bank gold.
The statement emphasizes that "Oschadbank" is fully confident in the legality of its actions.
"The full scope of information and supporting documents has been submitted to the National Bank of Ukraine. To further confirm its legal position, the bank will engage one of the leading international companies to conduct an independent audit of the processes and contractual relations between all parties involved in the transportation of funds and valuables," Oschadbank stated.
