The Mayor of Dnipro, Borys Filatov, spoke in favor of ending the war as soon as possible. However, he evaded answering the question of whether he supports the idea of withdrawing Ukrainian troops from Donbas for this purpose. At the same time, he emphasized that he has his own opinion on this issue, but «whatever I say, it won’t be accepted by part of society».

«I won’t answer (the question «truce at the price of Donbas — is it acceptable?» — Ed.). I have my own opinion. I am not part of the higher military-political leadership, I don’t have full information about how the negotiations are being conducted and what guarantees our partners are giving us. Whatever I say, it won’t be accepted by part of society. I can only say that I want the war to end sooner. Too many dead. People are very tired. In addition, he pointed out that the mayor of Kharkiv, Terekhov, is allowed to criticize the TRC and the authorities in general, unlike other representatives of local self-government, who face criminal cases for this.

«Now the mayor of Kharkiv can criticize the Minister of Energy, Ukrenergo, and even the TRC. I can’t even imagine what would happen if I started criticizing Ukrenergo, Denys Shmyhal, and the TRC right now. (What would happen?) A new criminal case. I personally am not afraid. Pity the people. They don’t want to work, they’ve just gotten tired of it», — Filatov said.
