The director of one of the enterprises in Donetsk region is suspected of illegal extraction of minerals and land damage. According to the investigation, his actions caused damage to the state exceeding 28.7 million UAH.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

It is noted that in March 2025, a contract was concluded for the reclamation of agricultural lands in the Novodonetsk community.

Instead, the contractor organized illegal extraction on 48 hectares: the topsoil was removed, a pit almost 4 meters deep was dug, and from June to August, 6,126 tons of coal-containing mixture were extracted, which was sold as fuel.

"On 2 hectares of the site, over 65,000 cubic meters of waste were placed, causing additional damage to the ecology exceeding 523,000 UAH," — noted the OGP.

In February 2026, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office notified him of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 240 and Part 2 of Article 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the court chose a pre-trial restraint measure — detention with an alternative of bail.
