Booking for bribes and "dead souls": details of SSU searches in Lviv City Hall have become known

Why the SSU came with searches to the Lviv City Council - details have become known.

As it became known, on March 12-13, the SSU is conducting a series of searches in Lviv as part of a criminal proceeding regarding a possible scheme of evasion from mobilization through fictitious employment.

According to information from the investigation materials, officials of the Lviv City Council and one of the subordinate municipal enterprises are suspected of creating a "booking" mechanism for military-liable persons.

According to the investigation, since 2023, an organized group has been operating that arranged men for fictitious positions at the municipal enterprise. After that, they launched the procedure for obtaining the status of "reserved" from mobilization.

The investigators have already identified more than 20 military-liable persons who, according to law enforcement data, were employed for a fee but did not actually work.

In addition, law enforcement officers are checking the possible misappropriation of budget funds, as these people could have been receiving salaries from the municipal enterprise while not performing any work.

As part of this case, 24 searches are planned, as well as the detention of at least two figures in the proceeding.

The figures are charged with:
• obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
• misappropriation of state funds as part of an organized group.

Procedural supervision in the case is carried out by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

I expect new details regarding specific officials of the Lviv City Council and the municipal enterprise who may have been involved in this scheme.
