In Zakarpattia, a lieutenant colonel of the TRC is suspected of overpayment for fuel for the AFU by UAH 866 thousand

The head of the logistics department of one of the regional TRCs in Zakarpattia is suspected of official negligence during the procurement of fuel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The lieutenant colonel approved contracts for gasoline, diesel, and liquefied gas with 20% VAT.

In March 2022, three contracts were concluded for the supply of fuel for the military, where VAT at 20% was included in the cost.

However, during martial law, such operations were taxed at a 0% VAT rate. Due to lack of control, more than 5.1 million UAH was transferred to the supplier, of which 866 thousand UAH was excess VAT.

The lieutenant colonel has been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for a military serviceman’s negligent attitude towards service that caused serious consequences during martial law.
