In Bukovyna, a forester was served with a notice of suspicion for illegal logging of trees worth over 27 million hryvnias

A forest master in Bukovyna has been notified of suspicion regarding illegal logging of trees worth over UAH 27 million.

The official was responsible for the protection and control of the forest condition in the assigned patrol sections. However, due to improper performance of official duties, he failed to ensure proper supervision of the forest areas.

During January-March 2025, valuable Carpathian tree species - fir and spruce - were illegally felled in these territories. According to experts’ conclusions, the damage to the environment exceeds UAH 27 million.
