«The monobank co-founder admitted his wrongdoing after disclosing the client’s personal data. At the same time, acknowledging the mistake does not absolve him of responsibility. I reacted to the situation immediately – proceedings have been opened and an inspection of the circumstances of possible violation of the legislation on the protection of personal data and banking secrecy has been started», – Lubinets noted.
The ombudsman emphasized that personal data cannot be used as a tool for public pressure or humiliation. «The law is the same for everyone, and its violation cannot be justified by emotions or public resonance. The results of the inspection and further steps will be announced additionally after receiving all the necessary information», – he added.
